Music. Henna. Ice Cream & Sheryl Crow.

I ventured out to the Sound Of Music Festival with some friends. I got a henna tattoo (considering I don't think I could ever get a real one) that is the Chinese Glyph for Honour on my wrist. I thought it was something new. Never done that before. On the long walk back from the bathrooms, towards the main stage, I got one of those swirly vanilla chocolate ice cream cones....mmmmm good. Then it was time for the music which was David Usher. It was really decent, I like a couple of songs from his first solo CD ie. "Jesus Was My Girl". He came out for an encore and sang some Ozzy.......odd, but cool nonetheless!

The day was filled with rain. Early on there was a thunderstorm. Sorry, a bone-rattling thunderstorm. This was when I went out to aqquire some food from round the corner. I did not let the downpour stop me. I walked all the way, and got soaked. So there I wandered, down the street in the pouring rain, with my walkman pumping equal amounts of Sheryl Crow into either ear.

It rained for a little while at the festival too, but it wasn't that bad. I never used to like Hockey....I do now. I never strayed from much of anything other than electronic music.....I have actually left that behind now. I don't think I have heard an electronic song I liked other than Prodigy's new one. My music repetoire has now gone completely punk and indie. The Anniversary, Dashboard Confessional, The Hives, The White Stripes, Ash, The Pixies, Hefner, Sleater Kinney, ANFG, Bonfire Madigan. Surprising, I used to spend too much time to try to find new music to listen to, and there was an entire cornucopia of music to be found all at once! I think I have 6 new mix CD's made, and I must say that keeping my eyes open in the morning is alot better when you have Sleater Kinney "Get Up" blaring in your head!! Rock it!

Too much going on this week. To be honest I don't know what day I will get home before bedtime. Last couple of days have been hectic, and the next few are the same. I feel revived, after all the time spent with nothing to do. Good stuff.

I have really gotten used to wearing what I want to wear, and not caring what the heck anyone says. If you recall, I gave almost my entire wardrobe away to the Salvation Army. Needed a change, well I have begun rebuilding a new one, and have quite a few new things. I am price concious, and so alot of my stuff looks like it came from the 70's.....sweet. I think the best is my shirt that looks like I am "a player on an intermural soccer team for a youth hostel in Switzerland in 1976"....I sh*t you not, it is friggin wicked!

More when I get a chance.

Will someone please tell me what the heck is the matter with THIS GUY?!?! I swear to god, I saw this link on another blog. I really didn't do anything tonight. Went to the video store and rented an Anime that I had wanted to see for a while called "Brain Powered"......the opening credits had what I like to term as "pointless anime nudity". I turned it off after about 20 minutes. It wasn't interesting me. I loathe pointless anime nudity. Ridiculous. You see the reason that it is in there, is because actual live action pornographic movies are banned in Japan, or were at least a couple of years back. Anyway. Bad anime behind me, I move foreward. Why can't I spend more time at the library? Oh yeah, cause I buy all my books. I find that libraries are really relaxing though. Usually very quiet. It doesn't hurt that my library is down by the lake.

Been listening to some new music last couple of days. Thanks go out to Sam for pointing them out. Big ones that I can't get out of my head are: Sleater Kinney, The Hives, The Anniversary (that one I found on my own, as I did with Bonfire Madigan), Hefner.....the list continues.....they all rock so far! Especially Sleater Kinney!

I know that I should be asleep, and I most likely will be soon. I found it way to boring to sit at home today. Luckily I have decided to make some sort of fun thing to do at least one day every weekend. So tommorow, I think I might head over to the cafe, maybe the bookstore, and most definately a walk.

I am getting really lethargic. I keep ending up at the movies, which is cool, don't get me wrong, I like movies, you all know that. The problem is, that I can't seem to find middle ground between doing nothing, and going to a movie. I'm kind of in a state of flux. Something has to change. Not that it is something that I let get to me too much, just thought I would mention it.

*Listening to "Emma Discovery" by The Anniversary*......which kicks ass btw!

I believe Sarah Harmer said it best: "You live out
where the street ends
in a basement apartment with one of your friends
and the tap drips all night
water torture in the sink
the furnace is burning but it's still cold I think
I can smell the bleach that they use in the hall
but it can't clean the dirt off of me
it seeping under the door
in across the floor
it's starting to hurt, everytime I breath.

God damn that's a good CD!

Sitting in front of the glowing screen. I keep smoking cigarettes and listening to music. I feel like going in the other room and watching some TV. The problem is. TV is pissing me off. The only thing I could bring myself to watch.....the Simpsons...which is always good. I loathe so many tv shows. The only things I still like to watch are. The Simpsons, Futurama (when it is on), Family guy, Friends (I still think it is funny), Alias, 24 (while it was on anyway), and sometimes Frasier. I can't stand anything else really. I have begun to see why I shouldn't waste so much time watching tv. I enjoy reading more actually.

Music has switched over to "Ender will save us All" by Dashboard Confessional....great track!!

I think I will go read some Harry Potter (Shaddup, Harry rocks!! I know I am 25, nevermind that!)

Later all

So usually my weekday's only consist of working, and sometimes going out. There are however certain occaisons that I deem blog-worthy(yep, it's a word), and today is one of those.

So, today I left work in the direction of the mall. It would appear (although it does seem to be the case alot of the time) that I had run out of alot of bathroom stuffs......all at once. Today I woke up to, little or no shampoo, a smattering of toothpaste ...ect. (Ah the bachelor life right? Yeah, I think I will keep telling myself that)

So there I go into the vast commerce centre of my mall, in search of said items. I got most with no problems....except....shampoo. Which I buy at a hair place (Cause I like that one..that's why). I step up to the counter, bottle in hand and the girl is on the phone. Customer probably right? Nope. It became abundantly obvious, after I heard the phrase "...so where did he take you..." permeate towards my ears. Ok, so personal call. I can wait. Wait. Wait. Wait......so yeah, after about 15 minutes (no....really....15 minutes) I speak up and say Pardon me. in a polite manner. She ignores me. Wonderful. So I kind of chuckled, and she gets off the phone...finally. Serves me. I go to leave, and wouldn't you know it, I accidentally knocked over a bunch of bottles of gel. Shame. I reach down to pick them up, and the manager comes over, calls the receptionist to clean it up. He tells me that I was waiting long enough. Poetic justice. Smiles were had by all.

BTW. It was quite a piece of work. Well thought out, and bizarre, as good anime should be. I couldn't help noticing the use of a 50's lounge song (read: I forget the title) during a catastrophic scene. Nonetheless, impressive.

Went to sleep at an odd hour, and got up refreshed on Monday. Strange. Refreshed, and ready for.....work. So they aren't all gems.

Today, went over to Brett's for a bit, and watched some tv, (Simpson's mostly), ate some not-so-good-for-me food, and tried forever to find a font for his new site.....said font being the one over on the right, used for the Broken Saints logo. Couldn't find it, but will do the next best thing, and make one similar in Illustrator. Solid plan I think.

The yawning is overtaking me now. I have been reading forever about the conflict in the middle-east and this just proves my thoughts on the situation. What we see on TV and in the papers about this is the left wing view of the religious zealots who happen to be at the higher powers of this conflict. Radicals. NOT the average Israeli or Palestinian. The average common folk in this area do not take joy in this situation. The sheer ridiculousness (it IS a word damn you) of this makes me grit my teeth. All the killing, all the maiming, all the families disrupted...over a spot that was preordaned by both religions to be theirs. Good lord people, GROW UP!! I know it will never be settled, because humanity is petty. I would just like to point this picture out. You think that this site in the Gaza strip is holy???? I will tell you what is holy....An Israeli soldier holds a palestinian girls hand to walk her through the danger.....THAT is holy. That is humanity at its best. The soldier realizes that she is only a child and could get hurt, so he helps her....I can't fathom a better poster for peace.

Well, what's new. In fact, I can honestly say that the majority of the clothes that I have now, were bought in thr last 3 months or so. It was time for a change.

Gonna buy the Legend: Ultimate Edition DVD tonight. Mmmmmm, something to watch with my new speakers!!! I did, have the hockey game cranked though.....didn't help the Leaf's, they still lost. Ah well.

Need a new book again.

Maybe play outdoor mini-golf tonight, if I can organize it....

Going to be away for most of the weekend.....so maybe no updates...but we'll see.

Jaws 2 cover for Becky's DVD......still trying to work on that....need some scans for it.

Finished working on the CD cover and insert for Fergg's CD.....I think I did an ok job, but I am always really critical of my work.

Star Wars still rules!!!

Eating healthy. Had a salad and a veggie sub for dinner the last few nights. I don't stock chips in the place anymore....just veggies & dip, and fruit......strawberries for $1.50!!!! Holy crap, when did this happen? There I was again watching Game 3 of the Semi's.......who am I. I am a bearded, hockey/movie/music/comic fan who's TV room (as of last night's complete renovation) now resembles a very sterile futuristic theatre, who seems to be now very bent on improving his home theatre (including the new receiver that must get since finding out last evening that one of my rear speaker connections is completely shot). I am a Canadian. I am a self-professed nerd (I don't care what you think about that). I love Star Wars......where is the clean shaven guy who used to never stick up for himself, and let life pass him by.....I'll tell you where..gone. It was as if Morpheus came up to me and told me that he wanted to free my mind baby!! Anyway, that is sort of a rant eh? Pretty much the whole thing was that I like hockey now. Hey, at one time I hated mushrooms.....long time ago now...I friggin love mushrooms!!!

anyway, more to come later.

Well, here is the new name for the site. I am going to assume it is the final title. "Digital-Drain" is actually a reference to an inside joke that a friend of mine and I came up with a couple of years back. If you guys can figure out the why and how of it, I will be impressed.

Saw Star Wars for the second time last night. Twice as good as the first time I saw it, and those who read that I liked it would know that is even better news. Everything fell nicely into place, considering the chaotic(just meaning the sheer amount of fans and hub bub) first viewing I went to last Wednesday at Midnight. Great flick. Recommended. As far as I am concerned the best one since Empire, but that's me.

Bought a Dreamcast on the weekend. $50 bones. Gotta love that! Brand new! I am actually thinking of buying an XBOX since they came down in price. First off though is improving my home theatre. Tonight, I should be buying new rear's(speakers) and hopefully by next pay, a center channel, beyond those purchases lay a subwoofer, a new receiver (Dolby Digital of course), and new fronts (speakers) to round it out, but that is all going to be over the course of the summer, when I can afford it. New rear's tonight should be cool though. The rear's I have now have started to kick the bucket. They will go in the trash, unless someone wants them. Speak up, and they are yours!!

Reformatting my room tonight. Nice! Maybe put in my ceiling fan, which I bought last year and have not installed yet. Silly me.

Is it me, or does Rosie suck real bad! God I hate that woman. She can go away any time now!(this after watching the Survivor finale)

Finally caved and bought the Linkin Park CD. Really good! I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. Next up for CD purchase....Sheryl Crow.

DVD for Legend :UE is out today....Nice!!! Something to watch while I reformat the room!

Still need to save for Transformers Season 1 box set. It can wait though.

Sister getting married in June. Tux rental is made. Asian (Mandarin collar) style. Sic!!

Why do we have a Hooters downtown? Do we really need to have that? I think not.

Become a Hockey fan over the last little while (since the olympics), when did that happen. I used to hate Hockey. Well damn, I guess I am a Canadian.

Seismic charges from the Slave 1 (Jango Fett's ship) in the digital theatre.......FRIGGING GOLD!! It's called my eardrum, let's see if we can break it! I LOVE digital sound.

Why don't I have my tickets for Area:2 yet? David "friggin" Bowie guys! We gotta get tickets!

Hoping to buy a domain soon, so I can have images again, and make some cool flash stuff for...well let's face it, for my own enjoyment....oh, and you guys too!
I think it might be a little more involved then, there will probably be alot more to my site at that point.

Quote of the day:

Taken from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

Yoda: Victory?! Victory you say? No victory. The dark side's shroud has fallen. I am not in good spirits.

1. I found out (on the same day that I found out I am getting a car) that my driver's licence has expired, and I may possibly have to go back and re-take either my written test, my road test, or both. I am not pleased.

2. I have been woken up about 4 times this past week in the middle of the night, and didn't say anything about it, to which result, I said some things to my roomate that I didn't nessesarily mean, and have upset not only her, but myself in the process.

3. My 2 rooms at my house do not evoke the kind of environment that is pleasing to me. They look like bachelor pads. I don't want them to. I have to change this, it is driving me nuts.

4. I finished reading a book last week and have not gotten a new one to read yet.

5. My sister is getting married, and I don't know if I can get into my suit, and if I in fact cannot, I have to buy a new one, which will cost me.

6. My new video project isn't coming together. I can't make it work. I can't be happy with any song choice. It is ticking me off.

7. I find myself with all this excess upset, that I can't shake. I have felt down in the dumps for about 2 weeks now. I need a way to either relieve the stress or get rid of the anger.

I have to be more wary of the kind of things I do and say. I need to be more happy. I am known to be happy most of the time, or at least I used to be. I want to get back there.

Here is mine.

Take the World of Darkness Quiz
by David J Rust

Site now has the comments restored, the links to the right, and alkl the posts have dates now, and are separated better, so they look more becoming and clean. I woke up this morning and had burned a mix CD last night for myself, containing alot of tracks (16 in total), some of which are new, and some of which are older. Stuff like:

A List Of Things - Damnhait Doyle, Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow, Sea Of No Cares - Great Big Sea, and I needed for some reason to have some Natalie MacMaster on there, I have dug her music since I first liked GBS, way back in the day, and I put a great track on there that I loved, from her "No Boundries" CD called "The Drunken Piper".

Here is the funny thing. I decided to find out about the Waterfront Fest this year, and She's playing!! That should be really cool!

I am going to be at work on my new video, which I have had to re-think, and start from scratch, but I think I have a good plan, and all should be well in a couple of days. So it shouldn't be too much longer.

Stay tuned.

Well, here is the new and improved stuff. Ah well, so long as Sean doesn't win. That guy is just an idiot. I digress.

Cleaned house. Don't know why, just felt like it. Cleaned it all, top to bottom. I feel decent about that. Did I mention Iced Tea rules??

The beard that I am growing is starting to come in big-time. I kind of scare myself in the mirror when I see it. Watching The Matrix is always a good idea!

Spiderman KICKED SO MUCH A$$, that I can't tell you. Well they are coming, as soon as I get a chance to add them. Other than that, we went to Christine's award ceremony last night, she got one for High Academic Achievement!!! WooHoo! Go Christine! It was quite an interesting evening, and rather studious, but nonetheless fun. Mozzarella Sticks and Tang RULE by the way!!! I think I ate about 11 of those. Then it was off to Sharkey's "Q" Lounge for drinks, and chatting, which was fun, and ambient. Digging the tracks they were playing there. Some good stuff. Kind of Techno-lounge stuff. I was happy for a while with the title I had chosen, but I changed my mind, and have retitled it. I have also reformatted it into something that looks more like I want it to.

Other than that, I know I promised a review of X-Men Evolution from last weekend, but I haven't had the chance yet, but rest assured, it is coming. I have been busy at work with my own AMV's (Anime Music Video) and have started work on my sophmore effort in said respect. I hope that it will be as good as I know Brett's second one already is.

Not a whole lot more to report. I was with Brett, Christine, and Liv 2 weeks ago for the Final Film Screenings at York U. We went to support Mikey, and Liv went so that she could see her handiwork in Roger's movie ("Third Party"), she did the special effects make-up, and even though the projector was showing the films REALLY dark, it still looked cool. Most of the movies, unfortunately, were dark, attempts at noir fare, and they end up coming across as either too avante garde or just plain Ridiculous! Roger's flick was good, as was most of one about a guy with a camera (which I can't remember the title of). All in all, a fun night to support Mikey (who is off in BC right now on the set of James Wong & Glen Morgan's (Final Destination, The One) new movie "Willard" making a documentary of the film being made for use on the DVD release.....so that should be really good for him!

More to come later. Stay tuned.

Well, iut has been over a week since my last post. I have decided to write less about myself on here, cause let's face it, I am not really THAT interesting...LOL.

First off: I am going to start writing a weekly review of my favourite cartoon (that I have to get up at 8:30 on Saturday's to see) called "X-Men Evolution". I TOTALLY dig this show! It is so well presented, and just wait till season 2 starts running in Canada (I have downloaded a few of Season 2 eps) and it kicks SO much A$$! Anyway, so you guys can look foreward to those starting this Saturday with an episode called "A Turn Of The Rogue".

Other news, is that a friend of mine from work has a band called "Slimkillers" and you can go HERE to hear two of their songs. They are a really good band, from the tracks I have heard, and seem to be on the cusp of something great. Keep an eye out for them, and go over and have a listen, you shant be dissapointed!

more to come later, including news about what I have been doing that has been keeping me from updating the site.

Tuesday.....Tuesday....Tuesday.....hmmmmmm. Nope, nothing special about Tuesday that I can think of....oh wait except the fact that the Transformers Season 1 DVD box set was supposed to come out today.....and the shipment won't be in until next week.....DAMN THE MAN!!

Why is it always the ones that you are waiting for??

Anyway, that anger aside.....

I am almost finished reading a decent book called "Cold Fusion", which has taken me a ridiculous amount of time to read (This considering that I have been known t polish books off in 2 or 3 days usually). It has been a couple of weeks. Ah, well, such is a book that doesn't completely grab you all the time.

I am almost finished the "Fray" series. Only two more issues to go on that "vampire slashing, blade runner-esque, demon slicing, actioner". So far it is hardcore.

I was up alot of the night downloading stuff like a fiend.

Watched "Bring It On' again last night. Still a cool movie....I don't care what you people say!

Lisa Bonet is not coming back for the Cosby Reunion show...*sniff* *sniff* *tear*.....that's a shame....wasn't she always away at college or off partyting with Robert De Niro anyway??? I doubt she is missed.

Ecchh, Rosie is hosting the Survivor Finale.......godamn Rosie!

Not only are Angel, and Nightcrawler in X-men 2 (in LEADING roles) but also Pyro and Jubilee.....Good! I FRIGGIN LOVE Jubilee!!!!

Check this out:

Lucas Admits Phantom A Disappointment
Posted on Tuesday, April 23 @ 08:51:36 CDT by Ajax (90 reads)

George Lucas has apparently admitted that STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE was a disappointment.

If you've ever read AICN's Talk Backs, you know that reality rarely lives up to fanboy expectations. Entertainment Weekly had the report:
Even George Lucas now admits that ''Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace'' was a disappointment. Yes, the movie grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide to become the fourth-biggest movie of all time, but its juvenile tone, forgettable dialogue, and saturation merchandising left a sour taste in fans' mouths.

According to Newsweek, Lucas seems to say as much in a marketing memo he sent to toymaker Hasbro, which reads in bold type, ''The last movie did not live up to expectations.'' The memo promises that ''Episode II -- Attack of the Clones'' will have a ''darker feel, closer to the original saga'' and ''no silly characters or kids.'' (Yes, Jar Jar Binks is back, but apparently in an abbreviated role.) Also, Lucas is toning down the merchandising; Newsweek says he's authorized only a third as many licensing deals for ''Clones,'' including axing a partnership with Pepsi that created 8 billion cans of ''Star Wars'' soda last time around....

Hehehehehe.....maybe he finally listened, maybe he gets the point, maybe he remembers where he was when he wrote Empire Strikes Back....

I have "to pardon the pun" a "NEW HOPE" for this flick now.

I post the following for Brett:

MST3K Host Lands Another Gig
Posted by Ajax on Tuesday, April 23 @ 08:35:20 CDT (3 reads)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you ever watched MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, you know who Mike Nelson is. Nelson has come down from the Satellite of Love and has landed with the AMC pilot of TRAILER. The show bascially has Nelson travelling in a trailer to different towns that were used for movie shoots. Once there he would talk to residents and unearth various souvenirs. In the pilot Nelson visits Woodstock, Ill., the site of GROUNDHOG DAY.

more to come later

Ever wonder what would happen if dogs became smarter than their human masters? I hope everyone had a good weekend! I had a decent one. Friday night a couple of us went out to the Martini House, and that was cool. Saturday I went out to see "Frailty" with some friends (I have mixed feelings about that flick). Sunday I went for a hike on the Bruce trail at a place called "The Devil's Pulpit", which was alot of exercise and really fun!!

I want Mikey to know that I am gonna burn "Splashdown" for you, and bring it on Wednesday night to the film screening, so don't worry, you'll have it for your trip to BC.

I played alot of Unreal Tournament on the weekend online, and had my A$$ repeatedly fed to me by guys from Houston. Then on Sunday I started to beat them down. Yay! Solid!

So there I was, laying in bed this morning and just listening to the radio, when a guy who called in was asked if he had trouble getting to work because of the snow........SNOW?!?!? From the archives of the "WHAT THE?!" files, comes today's weather. I don't mind snow. I really don't. What I do mind, is when it is April 22nd, and global climactic change decides to dump some white stuff on us. It didn't help that I didn't have a chance to eat breakfast today, and as I was walking outside the house I noticed that the snow on the grass looked like cool whip, making me exceedingly hungry.......to the point where I was thinking.."Man, I would like to eat some snow covered grass..". I didn't say this aloud mind you, but just the fact that the thought entered my head begs for question of sanity.....I'm kidding of course....I would never eat grass......not on a Monday anyway!

more to come later kiddies.

Today I was listening to "6 Underground" and remembered that Kelli Dayton (The singer) left the band, and I was wondering what happened to her? While I admit that she was a strange girl with vampire fangs, she had a kick-a$$ voice.

I then began wondering what happened to Saffron from "Republica", since they are no longer recording, and found out that she is in a new band called Swarm and they have an LP coming out soon.

So that's is cool.

more to come in a bit.

So last night, I had a surreal encounter with ladybugs. I could not sleep (because of the heat, and I haven't put my air conditioner in yet) and had to open the window....the frame of which had about 30 ladybugs crawling around. I didn't want to sleep with all of them conspiring against me....cause I know they are planning an invasion, but I digress, I took out the vacum cleaner, and they all went peacefully.

End of story right?

Wrong!

This morning I was walking up the street and realized that the aphids (the little bugs that the ladybugs are here to feast on) are always hanging out in packs, right about head level. This I suppose is so that they can be annoying and you run into them not realizing they are there. So I began thinking, why DO they hang out so low, why don't they go further up into the atmosphere. This way the ladybugs wouldn't be able to find them, and would go away. The Aphids would survive way up there and not crash into my head at every opportunity, and I could have my window open without fear of the unsettling image of hundreds of ladybugs in a group.....just sitting....plotting. I think the ladybugs want control of the world. I think that is the plan. So everyone join me in my crusade against the ladybugs.

Join the "Stop The Ladybugs Now" campaign. Also known as "STLN"

Momre later people.

Here is a riddle that I heard. I know you want to hear it.....come on...I know you do....ok, here it is...since you twisted my arm:

A boy has a tiger, a goat, and some greens that he must take into town to be sold. To get to town he must cross a river. He cannot go around, under, or fly over the river. He must cross the river with a raft and he can only take ONE thing or animal at a time with him across. However, he cannot leave the tiger with the goat because the goat will get eaten and he cannot leave the goat with the greens as the greens will get eaten. The only two that can be left together are the tiger and the greens. The boy can make as many trips as he wishes and we assume that nothing gets eaten when the boy is with them. How does the boy get all of his cargo including himself across the river safely?

And to go along with the Ebay auction of the dirty socks.....in the "Ridiculous things folks don't need" category....

go HERE and check out the auction for some lego.....I swear this one had me laughing my a$$ off.

And how about THIS ONE....I mean holy!! That is going to be really cool, because we all know Fincher will make it very dark, and dingy.....just what we need for that franchise.

Apparently, Rosie (Blew the end of Fight Club....we don't like her) O'Donnell is going to adapt and direct a movie.....I don't think any of us need this. She already puts her mug on the cover of a magazine monthly....we needn't have a movie.

Ther eis a sequel being planned for "Dude, Where's MyCar?" which was not the least bit funny, called "Seriously Dude, Where's My Car?". Does this need to be done? I asked myself this question, and the answer came to me almost immediately.....nah. This would be like having a sequel to Saving Silverman...hey we are still obsessed with Neil Diamond...and now another guy is getting married to a control freak.....don't believe me....go HERE and check it out for yourself.

I was listening to some tracks this morning, and I really dig that new David Usher single "A Day In The Life". Nevermind the theiving of the title from a Beatles song, theis track is good. Almost as good as another one I recently discovered by Cornershop called "Things I learned from Rocky 1" but that is a different story.

Here is the part of the post where we say how Cool Lonestar is! You know who you are *cough* Christine *cough*. Lonestar is cool beans, and I said I would give her props and I am! On that note, I know Brett and Christine are almost done school. Well done guys, and it might just be time to take you guys out and get you some drinks now....what do ya say?

more to come later.

So I just found out that Dreamwave Comics (Transformers, Banished Knights, Dark Minds: Macropolis) has announced a new six issue Transformer mini-series for ship in October tentatively. It is called Transformers: The War Within.....sounds cool already, but it don't stop there....here is the snippet press release on the plot of it:

-taken from Newsarama-

The War Within is set prior to the original ‘Generation One’ animated series and comics, i.e. before the Transformers came to Earth.

Dreamwave and Furman offered this description of the story to Newsarama…

“Cybertron, home planet of the Transformers, at the very start of the catastrophic civil war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. For the first time, the root causes and staggering secrets of a conflict that has spanned four million years and spread out across the galaxy are revealed.

”The War Within is set in the early days of the war, and features the Optimus Prime's initiation as Autobot leader, as well as his first confrontation with the malevolent Megatron. Under attack, besieged on all sides, the Autobot forces attempt to stop their world falling to the conquering Decepticon army. But Megatron's plans go far deeper - literally - than anyone imagined, and deep beneath the planet surface a battle will be fought to determine the fate of the entire universe. Cybertron's last hope is Optimus Prime... but the newly appointed Autobot leader isn't convinced it's worth saving at all!

”With a host of classic characters revealed in their original Cybertronian forms, 'The War Within' gets back to basics in a big way, providing the perfect platform for new readers and old. It all starts here... and how! Shocks, surprises, and a big hint of what's to come, they're here.”

.....

Tell me this aint SWEET!! Nice! Gotta love Dreamwave!!!!

Today's quote of the day comes from American Pie 2:

Jim: I'm sorry Nadia, I have to go find someone.

Nadia: Your band geek?

Jim: I am a band geek, I just never joined the band.

So just about five minutes ago I found out that not only is Nightcrawler in it, but Archangel is going to be in it as well, according to Patrick Stewart who just recieved the finished script. Also, Iceman is going to have a MUCH bigger role.

The new special edition DVD for the original is set for release this summer, so that should be cool, except that I have to buy it again considering I own it already.....narf!

There is a certain website that Brett and I created, that *ahem* Brett hasn't added to yet...*ahem*.....just kidding bro. We aren't I think ready yet for it to go public, but maybe soon.

I am seriously looking at playing some Unreal Tournament online again. I can't remember when I had more fun online gaming, and alienated so many by accidentaly shooting my own team members in the Capture the flag games....lol.

Still reading "Cold Fusion", which is really cool. It is just taking me a while to finish it, what with all the comics to read, movies to watch, and games to play....being a pop culture junkie can have its drawbacks, but I ain't complaining bub!

Well, first post today.

First off, I spent my morning listening to some old tracks......this is why we love MP3! "Breathe with me!"

Second, I just finished reading a new comic from Image called "Fused" and it is pretty cool, I must say. Although I am REALLY waiting for another image title to come out next week called "Bastard Samurai!" by Mike Avon Oeming (Powers), which has whet my whistle with its preview pages. I am also eagerly awaiting a new DC/Vertigo title called "Fable" where the fairy tale world is turned upside down as it's inhabitants move to New York and Snow White's sister Ruby Red is murdered. It sounds twisted, kind of like the style of American McGee's Alice. So that should be cool.

Played Max Payne (Which I purchased on Sunday whilst out at the mall) last night. I had finished it on Sun. but now I am going back to my favourite parts and kickin butt! I love this game!

Look at the gamut of comics being turned into movies over the next while:

Spiderman

The Hulk

Iron Fist

Daredevil

League Of Extrordinary Gentlemen

Bulletproof Monk

Akira (Live Action)

100 Bullets

Catwoman

....the list probably goes on, but that is all I can think of for now. Still, that is one heck of alot of movies coming based on Comics.....we are past the looking glass here folks!

more to come later.

I figure it might be time for an update. First post today. I picked up a crap game from Blockbuster last night called "Deus Ex: The Conspiracy". It blew some serious goats. Shame they still make crappy games. Ah, well, nothing is like a weekend of Max Payne. Nonetheless, went out and had dinner at Tokyo Bay last night. Love that place, although it didn't seem like I had enough to eat. I Then went home and watched "Joyride", which to my surprise, I quite enjoyed! However, here is the rub.....I finished watching it, and procceded to watch the alternate (original) ending......which is the last 25 minutes of the film....completely different from what I saw. It makes the outcome really different. Which is normally not the case, the only other movies I know had completely different original endings are "Se7en" and "8mm". The latter of which would have made the movie really good! I won't spoil it here though.

Must say that I forgot to add a couple of tracks to my best CD mixes. They should have not been forgotten, so here they are:

Cowgirl - Underworld

6 Underground - Sneaker Pimps
Spin Spin Sugar - Sneaker Pimps

My Way - Limp Bizkit

Voodoo People - Prodigy

Keep Hope Alive - Crystal Method

oh, and by the way, my friend Chris said it best (about the lackluster new "Moby" single) "I am not made of friggin star's Moby!"

Work is boring.

Work is always boring, but I like to make it fun by pronouncing the word "Cuba" wrong, and calling it Chuba.....you would be surprised how often you can fit the name of a country into daily chat.

Funny thing in a magazine about the Amadeus" Director's Cut: "What were we watching the first time? The Pool Cleaners Cut?"

hehehehehe......that was funny.....but I still wanna see the directors cut.

movie quote of the day:

My favourite line from "Swordfish"

Stanley Jobson is driving golfballs out onto the industrial lot he calls home, when Ginger walks up

Stanley screws up a drive

Ginger: You don't seem to be very good at this Stanley

Stanley: You're F*cking up my Chi!"

more later folks

I guess it comes to no surprise to me that the band that I have been really into recently (namely "Splashdown") were on tour at one point with the band who's CD I just fell in love with (namely "Lamb"). I nonetheless think it is really cool coincidence. Groovy. Thanks go to Brett for introducing me to Lamb a couple years back!

Today seems to just be edging by, minute by minute, hour by hour. Trudging through. I love it though. Havin fun.

Bcak to tell more later.

So, speaking of music. I ventured out on the weekend with my friend Chris, and we ended up at HMV, during which time I purchased a new CD. I bought the latest "Lamb" CD, which is titled "What Sound", and DAMN it is really good. I highly recommend this CD, especially Brett, if you haven't heard it already. Go pick it up, it kicks a$$!! I can't stop listening to it.

Other than that there has been alot of Playstation 2 this weekend. Max Payne. A game where you can use bullet-time to your advantage......hours later I have emerged from the video game, and almost finished it. I tell you what though. I would play it again all the way through in a heartbeat. Serious gameplay!

New comics: G.I.Joe Issue #5 (one-shot), Deadpool # 65 (KICKS!!!), Darminds: Macropolis #2 (CRAZY! I LOVE IT!), Wolverine #172(SWEEET!), and Rising Stars TPB 2, and Issue 17(Which makes me caught up in the series already, and I can't stop reading it!)

More tomorrow ladies and germs.

Lyrics for today:

Rage Against The Machine

No Shelter:

"Cinema simulated life in trauma
Forthright vulture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searchin' for
The thin line between entertainment and war"

Not much to report yet, except that Van Wilder (Which I had wanted to see) is apparently real bad! According to the reviews, and I quote "To call Van Wilder 'crap on a stick', would be an insult to crap and sticks everywhere."

So that is a shame, I thought Ryan Reynolds would be really funny. He apparently tries to save the movie, but he can't pull it on his own, and let's face it, Tara Reid can't help.

OK, so here is my list of what I would turn into my two BEST all-time compilation CD's. This is music at its finest people. I rifled through my CD collection, and found what I would call the most definitive tracks. So for your perusal. here they are....in order:

CD 1

1. Angel - Massive Attack - This one just gets me started. If I was to fall back on Teardrop as my favourite...I would be remiss. So this would be my favourite Massive Attack track.

2. No Ordinary Morning - Chicane - I can't tell you how much I love this track, the buildiing snares, and bass, and the sweet vocals. It just all puts me in such a good mood.

3. Touch - Louise Post & Dave Grohl - This one I discovered by accident, just randomly listening to tracks, and I hear this, and the duet between these two works so well, it just makes for a great dynamic.

4. Upside Down - Tori Amos - Heck, you knew she would be on here at some point, but I bet you didn't know it would be an obscure B-side....hehe.

5. From Your Mouth - God Lives Underwater - Ok, I have to admit that the video for this song was what initially tweaked my interest. An asian kid eating backwards for the whole thing was friggin amazing! Beyond that I would have to say that it just really grew on me as a track.

6. Untitled Track - Unknown Artist - Ok, I know this is weird, but I found this track while searching for Bjork songs, and it was listed as Aurora by Bjork, and it is not. It actually sounds like it IS icelandic, or nordic, but sufficed to say, it is SO incredible it makes the list anonymously. (You have to ask nice, if you want a copy)

7. Battersea - Hooverphonic - I must give initial credit to Brett for introducing me to Hooverphonic, especially this song. Nuff Said.

8. Out Of The Blue - System F - This track, to tell you the truth I can't remember the first time I heard it, but I have loved it since then. It builds like a freight train.

9. Juke Joint Jezebel - KMFDM - Makes the list. I don't have to tell you why.

10. Breed - Snake River Conspiracy - Mikey and I discovered SRC after hearing their rendition of "How Soon Is Now" and I downloaded this track and "Vulcan". Breed makes the list because of how twisted it actually is.

11. Simon Says - Drain Sth - Four Scandinavian girls in an industrial band. This track kicks a$$. Nuff Said.

12. God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters - Moby - It's MOBY. End of story. Thanks go to Brett for the osmosis that was his Moby influence.

13. Aria - Delerium (Feat. Medaeval Baebes) - Ever since I heard this track, it has become my all time favourite Delerium track.

CD 2

1. Krayon - Rose Chronicles - Not many people know or remember the Rose Chronicles, but you'd know Kirsty Thirsk's voice since it is on all of the Delerium CD's to date, but this track is such a challenge for her voice and she pulls it off beautifully.

2. Asia At Odd Hours - Splashdown - Recently discovered. Melissa Kaplan's vocals are THE BEST I have ever heard. Hands down! Kasson's music mind works really well with this track.

3. Sparks Are Gonna Fly - Catherine Wheel - I know Brett will tell me there are better Catherine Wheel songs, but this one just sits really well with me.

4. Daytime Dramamine - E.D. Swankz - Off of a Toronto Compilation of downtempo stuff called "Upstairs Recordings", this track is one of the most bizzare experimental tracks I own, but it is definately catchy....in a strange way.

5. Satellite - BT - It's BT. Do you need me to explain? Didn't think so.

6. Welcome to The Fold - Filter - One of the best Filter tracks, and I would say pushes the envelope past "Hey Man, Nice Shot", but some would disagree.

7. American Dream Girl - Joydrop - Seriously one of the BEST bands to come out of Toronto in a heck of a long time. Tara Sloanes vocals are crazy! This band could give alot of bands a run for their money.

8. Free - VAST - Once again, people may disagree with me, but I like this track only slightly more that "Touched"....but I love touched too, it is just I had to pick only one, and this one falls into spot. Thanks go to Brett again for introducing me to VAST, and making me the popular boy I am, who can name the unamed track from the trailer for The Beach.

9. Gabriel - Lamb - If I have to thank Brett again...so help me....but I gotta give him one more props for getting me into Lamb as well.

10. The Archer - Splashdown - These guys rock THAT much, they get two tracks on the disc. Nuff Said.

11. Volcano Girls - Veruca Salt - And Kicking in at number 11, a song that has been in my collection for a great number of years, and never fades. Shame they aren't the same band anymore. Isn't that always the case.

12. Trip Like I Do - Crystal Method - Still great after all this time. Nuff Said.

13. Blood Flame - Scratching Post - As far as I know, this was their only hit.....but it still rocks in my books.

14. No Shelter - Rage Against The Machine We all know Rage kicked A$$ (shame they broke up), but this nonetheless stands as my favourite track. Although I had to decide between this and "Bull on Parade" and "Bullet in the Head".

Thats it, and now I have to go to the chore of burning these. So if you will excuse me.

Wow, I can't believe this is the first post today. Took me a while. Lots of crap going on at work today, so it has been kind of hectic. However, I shall perservere, go home, relax and......dammit...do laundry and clean. *Running out of usable hours in the day*.

Nonetheless, I will be updating later on tonight, hopefully following suit with Brett, and rifling through my CD's and picking out what would be my two favourite mix CD's....considering he theived the idea from me to begin with.....hehehe. They will be posted for all to see, and critique at your will of course.

I gotta say one thing about Brett's list......Juke Joint Jezebel..........LOVE THAT TRACK! I almost forgot about it.

I want the new Usual Suspects SE DVD.

Oh, and for those who want to know, the NEW Dreamwave Transformers comic (G1 Issue 1) is out as of yesterday, in two variant covers to boot (One Autobot cover & One Decepticon cover), and I must say that story and art KICK A$$!! Go pick this up if you are a TF fan.....the story had me salivating.

Taken from Ghostbusters 2:

Police Officer: Hey, what are you guys doing?

Venkman: What, I got all this work to do, and you're going to come down here and shake my monkey tree again?! I got two thousand phones out in Grennich Village, I got three thousand miles of cable I gotta check! Why don't you let us work, we let you work!

Police Officer: Your not with Con Ed or the phone company....so tell me another one!

Venkman:...uh.....I got a major gas leak here! Well not really. It's more of a blue letter day. Maybe it's green number day.....ah, doesn't matter. Main thing is, it's Tuesday.

So, yesterday, I was taken by all the April Fools jokes on some of my sites. Things like a sequel to "Dude, Where's My Car" called "Dude, Where's My Wife".....James Van Der Beek playing Batman in Darren Aronofsky's Batman: Year One. A Remake of 2001: A Space Oddysey by a production company called "Butchering Classic Productions" (I know, I know, the last one was the one that remided me what day it actually was. So I was duped. Nonetheless, it was funny as hell to go over to The Force.net and have it be converted to Force Of N*Sync.net.....oh the Star Wars fans must have had a coronary when they saw it. Damn that was funny!! I don't know if it is still like that, but it might be.

If you guys get a chance, go over to the links on the left, and hit the one for the McFarlane Toys 2002 line. Go to the Spawn: Series 22: Viking Saga, and check out the figures for it. Friggin incredible!! While you are there, check the rest out too. They all rock. Including the one for the "Lord of Darkness" (otherwise known as Tim Curry) from the 1984 film "Legend". SWEEEEEEEET!

Hmmm, need coffee.

Need comics.

Need dancing music.
